DESCRIPTION:
APW - Waltham, Appleton Tracy & Co. with scarce vibrating hairspring stud, 15J, Model 1860, 16S, coin silver original E.T. & Co. (likely E. Tracy & Co.) HC, white enamel SS dial, KWKS, gilt mvt, s#140032. The vibrating hairspring stud was intended to improve isochronal properties of the hairspring and was used among a small portion of Models 1860 and 1862 production.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, spot to main plate near stopworks recess, scattered micro-fine scratches and mild small spots elsewhere, some oxide spots to steelwork of winding arbor escutcheon and stopworks; nearly flawless dial with only a small hl above seconds-register; excellent hands, some finish loss to spade of minute; case shows ample wear, a moderate patina, cuvette with fine scratches from key slips, mild shallow ding near center rear, engine turning detail fully lost to rear, only small portions of engine turning detail remaining faintly evident to front; bow pivots freely through a limited range of motion before becoming tight, push shows ample wear; good glass crystal.
